About Us
HISTORY
Mount Washington Children's Center has been serving Pittsburgh families for over 50 years. Our preschool program launched in 1972, followed by infant and toddler care in 1981. By 1987 we found our permanent home — a building designed to house all of our programs under one roof. In 2002 we established a collaboration with the Head Start Program, and today we are proudly affiliated with Pre-K Counts and Keystone Stars.
PHILOSOPHY
We believe early childhood education is one of the most critical investments a family can make. When children are exposed to varied experiences, healthy social connections and skillful guidance in their earliest years, they are set up for a lifetime of growth. Mount Washington Children's Center works hand in hand with families to make sure every child gets that important beginning.
VISION
Every child deserves to be seen, valued and respected for what they bring to the world.
GOAL
To appreciate and celebrate every child's uniqueness — every single day.
